Another "Serious Blow" to The Insurgency

Link: My Way News - NATO: Taliban Military Commander Killed.

Another "Serious Blow" and another "top leader" killed or captured. How many of these top leaders do they have? I have a feeling that whenever the war is going badly our Government just randomly kills someone then calls them a "Top Leader" to try to show we are doing something... anything.

By now we must have killed every top leader in the Muslim world yet it keeps going on. Wasn't it Cheney who said (over 1 year ago) that the insurgency was in the last "throngs"?

Blog of War Crap is Now Down to #827 On Amazon

Well, the crappy book "The Blog of War" is falling fast. Quick, where are the relatives to buy it? I wonder why even the Uber Fuhrer, Sean Hannity hasn't bought like 100,000 copies so they could say it was a "best seller"?

The book was at #786 a few hours ago and now it is at #827... like a brick!

The Pornographic "Blog of War" Book is Down to $10,20 and Dropping.

Isn't capitalism great? When a product doesn't sell at all it gets discounted to incredible levels. We saw the latest Ann Coulter filth get discounted to $4.00 so she could claim "best seller".

Now, a collection of censored material from the war, written by a bunch of people who pounded the war drums contributing to us being in a war causing thousands of deaths, has been discounted to $10,20 and dropping fast. There are new ones available for $8.00.

But, just like Bush has claimed victory at least 4 times during this war, they will claim best seller I am sure. Once the price is down to pennies and all their relatives have made their purchases, they will claim victory. Maybe Dadmanly, Mudville and Blackfive will get the Navy to fly them to a carrier where they can say "Major Combat is over"... of course that was a few years and 2,000 dead soldiers ago.

Currently #786 in the Amazon Best (??) Seller List... Great...

The Army Public Affairs Makes News Vanish into Thin Air (Or, not, Thanks to Google)

Well, as was referred to here, the Army had a real big problem on its hands. The soldier, PFC Greene, who is being charged with rape and murder in Iraq was actually featured on an Army Public Affairs site under the caption "Coalition Forces Keep Streets of Iraq Safe". What irony. So, how does the Army solve this problem?

Easy, just change the news. But, alas, we have Google to show us what really was. Below, is the screenshot of the story as it originally ran thanks to the Google Cache system. You can go and see it here but in case the link dies, I created a screenshot for you:

Armyold_news_1 See, this is the original page as it appeared n the PAO site. See the man with the gun? He is the accused rapist and murder.

See how the Army says that "Coalition Forces Keep the Streets of Iraq Safe"? Well, maybe not for one family and their lovely daughter but that is a different story.

So, what does the Army do when it has egg all over its face? It changes the news!

Below is the screenshot (actual link here) of the current PAO Story as it existed on July 5, 2006 at 8:50CST:

Armynew_newsSee, now what do you think is missing here? It is that little man in the suit with the gun! Has the story changed? Nope! Did they take the story down? Nope! They just wiped the little man in the green suit off the earth as if he never existed and kept right on telling the story.

And you all wonder why we need a free, independent and opposing press? This is what would happen if the Government controlled the information. Sure sounds a lot like 1984:

"Winston dialed "back numbers" on the telescreen and called for the appropriate issues of the Times, which slid out of the pneumatic tube after only a few minutes' delay. The messages he had received referred to articles or news items which for one reason or another it was thought necessary to alter, or, as the official phrase had it, to rectify. For example, it appeared from the Times of the seventeenth of March that Big Brother, in his speech of the previous day, had predicted that the South Indian front would remain quiet but that a Eurasian offensive would shortly be launched in North Africa. As it happened, the Eurasian Higher Command had launched its offensive in South India and left North Africa alone. It was therefore necessary to rewrite a paragraph of Big Brother's speech in such a way as to make him predict the thing that had actually happened."

    1984.. it has finally arrived!
