The Real Issue with Terry Shiavo

I think the real issue that should be discussed with the Terry Shiavo case after she passes on is how we will deal with the fact that we will be able to, soon, prolong life forever. What will we do in this situation? Should we require people to have a living will and call out what their wishes are and for those who do not have one a court appointed arbitrator handles it?

Also, will we allow people to prolong their life indefinitely? This is a core question because who will pay for this care? For example, who is paying for Terry Shiavo if she were to go on forever?

These questions must be answered because the reality of keeping the body (the vessel) alive forever is a real possibility. A good FAQ on this is at the Euthansia website.

Terry Schiavo Does Not Deserve to Be Murdered

I have not posted on Terry Schiavo mainly because I am stunned at what is happening. A lady is being murdered in Florida and the State is standing by and watching. The story seems simple to me. Her husband (who has now lived with another lady for almost 10 years and has another child - what a griever) has said that Terry made her wishes known to him. There is nothing in writing and there is no proof.

Her family, who most likely knows her better than this thug husband will ever know her, has said that she did not want this. Ok, we have a dispute. What do we do? ERROR ON THE SIDE OF LIFE! How can anyone NOT support that position?  Do the liberals hate Bush so much that they are willing to KILL a lady just so they can say "we got him"!

Unfortunately, I think that is what is going on. Vern, whom I normally agree with, over on his Blog is SUPPORTING DEATH. One of his main arguments is to "error on the side of the law". I wonder if the draft came back if he would dutifully march into the Mob station to "error on the side of the law".

Sorry Vern, on this one you are way out there and I think your hatred for Bush has clouded your judgment.

Jeb Bush should call in the state police and get her. This is a sad day in America when a person can be killed on innuendo and here-say.
