Illegal immigrants packing up and leaving Arizona

Note: I cross posted this at my dailyKOS diary and am getting the expected response. Go there and vote in my poll and post away!!

This is a great thing! CNN reports that illegal aliens are "self selecting" themselves out of the State of Arizona and many are going home. Due to a bad economy and a great new tough immigration bill passed by the State and created by State Senator Russell Pearce, they are going home. Bye, don't let the illegal immigration door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Thank goodness someone is finally stepping up and taking action. Unfortunately, it took a State Senator to do what our Federal Government refuses to do and that is enforce our immigration laws. We here at Command T.O.C. do not want to hear about how we need them for "work" and how tough it will be for them when they leave etc. etc. If we want immigration than we, as a Country, should create laws that allow for it. But, in no way, should we ever allow people to flaunt our laws, break them and benefit from the criminal activity.

Before anyone says that this is a "racist" or anti-immigration stance, let's read right from the position that Senator Pearce (and I) hold:

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: America is a nation of immigrants. People from all parts of the world dream of coming to America for freedom, opportunity and the chance to be the best they can be. We should encourage legal immigration and always discourage illegal immigration, yet Republicans and Democrats in DC are terrified to oppose illegal immigration out of fear that they will be labeled racist. This assertion is ridiculous. There is nothing racist about upholding the law. We need representatives who are willing to speak clearly for legal immigration and speak clearly against illegal immigration.":

A couple of key points here. First, we are not against immigration just against illegal immigration. Second, If you want more people in this Country than pass a law that allows it. If you want to "open up the borders" then stand up and pass a law that allows it (if you can). But, having the Federal Government refuse to enforce the federal laws which were passed by the rightful Representatives of the people is tantamount to treason.

What will happen is we will end up with a "war" between the states and the Federal Government as the states realize the Feds will not do what they are sworn to do which is uphold the laws of the United States. This independent state action being taken by the State of Arizona is the first shot across the bow.

If you think the Federal Government is not blatantly ignoring the laws of the United States. Congress passed, and Bush agreed to, the budget bill which cut spending for the border fence which they swore to put up. From the Washington Times:

"Congress last night passed a giant new spending bill that undermines current plans for a U.S.-Mexico border fence, allowing the Homeland Security Department to build a single-tier barrier rather than the two-tier version that has worked in California."

So, Arizona is successfully kicking them out. Now it will be up to other states to either get control of their illegal immigration problem or take them all in from Arizona. Then the locals who think it is such a great idea can have their LOCAL taxes raised to fund all the issues that come with illegal immigration.

One final item I can never understand either is this thing about "jobs". I go to Mexico probably every quarter as I work with some manufacturing plants in the central part of the Country. There are jobs all over the place! Turnover is at record highs as factory workers are recruited from one factory to another and factories are being opened as fast as they can pour the concrete. There is no lack of jobs in Mexico I can assure you of that.

We have a small war going on at our Southern border and the Federal Government had better enforce it or the states will take it into their own hands. And that could get ugly...

Senator Levin (D-Michigan) is a Traitor on The Amnesty Bill

Let it be known that according to from the pen, Senator Levin, my Senator, is officially a TRAITOR to this Country and is convicted in absentia of this crime. He has voted for cloture on Senate Bill 1639 which is tantamount to voting for the Senate to pass a bill requiring amnesty for illegal aliens before he will ask the President to actually enforce the laws of the land. This is an official disgrace.

While Michigan is at a 6.9% unemployment rate, Levin thinks the answer is to let a whole bunch of illegal aliens in the Country. Great.. where do we get these morons in Washington?

Because this is truly a military, Iraq war and IRR site, I have to ask those who have risked their lives and have fought for this Country one question: Is this what you fought for? You fought for a Country of no laws? Good to know you went to war to defend a Mexican citizen the right to illegally enter our Country and take your job!

Support for War at Its Lowest and Bush Continues to Defy The Nation's Laws

Not sure if you heard that splash but if you did, that is the sound of all the rats jumping off the ship. Even the Republicans are starting to abandon Bush and realize that they have been "had" on multiple fronts. They have been had on the Iraq war and they have been had on immigration. The lying weasel Bush and Cheney have now gone so crazy that even the normal right wing lunatics are saying "enough is enough". Some key points from the new CNN poll:

1. Only 30% of Americans favor the war (The last group of nuts on the planet).
2. 38% of Republicans say they outwardly oppose the war.
3. 63% of Americans want to withdraw at least some troops and 42% of the Republicans agree.

Meanwhile, the President who is supposed to be fighting for the rule of law in Iraq is outwardly defiant to the rule of law in the United States. On multiple times, his cronies have said they refuse to enforce the immigration laws on the books by returning illegal aliens to their home Country. They further refuse to even agree to enforce border laws and protect our borders from the hoards of cheap migrant labor so favored by Bush's rich friends.

Senator DeMint (R-South Carolina) says it best when he says all the border security issues and funding can be done under present law and need NO NEW LAWS to be passed for the President to execute on the border security provisions. So, why are we debating in the Senate? Well, it turns out this is the ONLY WAY the President will agree to actually enforce the laws (Remember, this violates his oath of office). He is basically saying that the only way he will enforce the laws is if Congress agrees to amnesty. Pure and simple.

So, if you go into the IRR and go into the Army, will you fight for this? This is what you will risk your life for? A President sends you off to die and he is unwilling to even enforce the laws in the United States? I say you should be OPENLY DEFIANT to this President. REFUSE TO SERVE. They will not let you protest with your uniform on, I say FINE!! You should burn your uniform in public. A public uprising is the only thing that will stop this maniac in the White House. Do it now while you still have time.

Immigration - Evidence That The Government is Violating Its Fundamental Oath

The most amazing thing to come from the Bush Administration in the past few months is its admission it will consciously NOT enforce the laws of the land on immigration. As I reported earlier, the so-called Secretary of Homeland Security admits he WILL NOT enforce immigration law and deport illegal aliens.

I think the Mahablog gets to the core of the issue in the posting titled "Ways and Wills". Here the basic premise is stated simply that there is no will to do this because money is being made off the backs of the illegal aliens. A lot of money. And, when money is involved, patriotism, borders, and law enforcement go right out the window with both parties. Which, interestingly enough, is my argument about why no one has a need or will to stop the Iraq war. A lot of money is being made and even if that means young kids die, the money makers are fine with that.

The Democrats are no better. They support outright amnesty for illegal aliens then they supposedly "promise" they will do something about securing our borders. They want "temporary workers" but that is nothing more than amnesty. The bottom line is very very simple in this particular issue:

1. People who are here illegally have broken the law.
2. The Government has the OBLIGATION to enforce the laws of the land
3. These people should be rounded up and sent back from where they came. They can then get into line, like everyone else, and come here legally.
4. The borders must be secured.
5. Business owners whose business employees illegal aliens GO TO JAIL .. go directly to Jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

If the Bush administration is UNWILLING to enforce the law which they have a sworn oath to do, he should be impeached and thrown into jail.

Folks, it is as simple as that. Yes, there may be a lull in finding people to cut your lawn for a short period of time but that is a small price to pay to ensure our laws are enforced and our borders are safe.

The Bush Government REFUSES to Enforce The Law

I find it interesting that the "conservative" Government of George Bush is the first that I can remember in a long time which refuses to actually enforce the law. Rather than enforce the immigration laws of this Country, the Bush administration is continuing the sell out of the American public by taking away our middle class and consolidating the wealth of the Country in a few hands. What we are being left with is a group of very rich and then a huge group of working poor. How is he doing this?

First, the Bush Government encourages outsourcing of jobs and production to low cost countries which employ slave labor and Earth ruining environmental practices. Second, he perpetuates a war, killing American boys and girls every day, to ensure his fat cat business friends can get rich.

And now, third, he has directed the so called Secretary of Homeland Security to NOT enforce our immigration policies. Rather, our Homeland Security person has announced that deportation will not happen and has, in effect, told the poor Mexicans to get here quick illegally because there is no way we are sending you home. Read the article I have linked to and tell me what you would do if you were thinking of entering this Country illegally. It is simple. You would get here fast because our Secretary of Homeland Invasion has publicly announced he will not enforce the law.

National Guard Overrun At Border

I cannot believe this. A national guard unit was overrun and had to retreat at the border of Mexico by armed gunman.

Mr. Bush - Why not "surge" the border? I am far more concerned about armed gunman storming my borders than I am about armed gunman storming a mud hut in the Anwar province.

If you would like to understand Bush's true position on illegal immigration, you can find it here. Tony Snow, the Fox newscaster who now infects our Country's "house" compared illegal immigration to speeding. Just like speeding, you pay a fine and go on. That is what they truly think.

Well, Snow, I compare it to running drugs, or breaking and entering. Further, if you break the law and you are not supposed to be here, you GO HOME.

Every time the Bush administration opens its collective piehole, it shows how out of touch they have become. Washington is a mess.

Immigration - Bush is in Pickle

Editor's Note: The Command T.O.C.'s position on immigration is clear: Illegal immigrants have broken the law and need to be removed from the U.S. The way to do that is to come down HARD on those businesses employing them. CEOs start going to jail for employing illegal aliens and the problem will be solved.

Also, INS should go up to every lawn worker and ask to see documentation (this includes home help, nannies etc). If the person is not a legal citizen the HOME OWNER gets thrown in the clink. This will make people think twice about getting cheap "Mexicans to cut their lawn.

Further, Mexico and Bush's "amigo" Fox in Mexico should be held accountable for not only allowing but encouraging illegal immigration. More to follow on that.

Wow! Bush has himself in a pickle now! No one can make a sane argument to allow the illegal immigration to continue as it has. Further, there is no reason why we should not do what I have mentioned above to ensure that we force the illegals back across the border. Finally, it appears it is easier for a person to cross the border from Mexico to the US than it is for me to fly from Chicago to Boston. So, we have this huge security gap right on our own border.

What is the only argument Bush can make? Clearly it is his support of his business cronies who want really cheap labor in this Country. This bull about "jobs Americans won't do" is just that, bull. Pay a "living wage" for lawn care workers, meatpackers, farm hands and there will be Americans all over it.

So, it is interesting that the conservatives have finally realized that Bush is NOT a conservative but rather a friend of BIG BUSINESS and will do anything to help his cronies. Interested in security? As long as it does not effect big business. What about workers? The hell with them, we can get Mexicans to come in. Interested in Democracy? Only if it is in an oil producing Country which will help his oil exec. friends.

Bush has finally, I believe, lost just about everyone. The conservative base is ready to kill him over this immigration thing, the moderates think the war in Iraq is idiotic and the liberals think everything he does is insane. There is no one left.

To all the "Milbloggers" out there: Ever wonder what they hell you defended? You are coming back to a Country which is out of control. Spiraling deficits, interest rates going up, the war is lost, and now, we are turning over the Country to Mexico. Welcome home.
