Where Barack Obama Has Gone Wrong

I have been thinking about the Conservative responses to Barack Obama's programs. They are essentially three:

1. The Government "infusion" and "take over" is essentially "socialism" and we, in America, cannot think of anything worse than socialism.
2. He has declared "war" on the rich. 
3. He is picking and choosing which industries to get bailed out.  

These are great arguments for the Conservatives to use because you can never prove what would have happened  had Barack Obama not done the things he has done. So, you can always say that we should not be doing this. 

After thinking about this, I have seen the Conservative position is essentially "do nothing". Let the invisible hand of Adam Smith solve the market problems. So, my conclusion is perhaps Barack Obama should do this. Perhaps he should just step back. Stop the government intervention and just let the "chips fall where they may" which, again, is essentially the conservative position. 

The fact that AIG will fail which will then cause just about every major bank around the world to fail should be of no consequence to Obama. When the Conservatives lose access to their money (Coulter and Hannity can't get access to their milions) they may understand the problem.

Let the auto companies fail. Put 1 million plus current employees and retirees go on the dole. This, of course, will create another million or so suppliers' employees get shoved out on the street. 

This will lead to massive home defaults even for those who were prime lenders and took the normal 28% of income loan and made a 20% down payment. They start defaulting in droves and then the local banks go belly up. Again, the Conservatives will have no access to their money. 

Yes, maybe Barack Obama should just let the chips fall where they may. Then, when things get bad enough, and the conservatives are essentially bankrupt they may say that there is a role for Government. 

The conservatives use their ideology to play with fire. Like they did in Iraq, they forge an ideology which is fun to argue but causes death and destruction. As we know, their current ideology on the economy, if followed, would be the end of America as we know it. Thank God we have an adult in charge and he will not follow my advice above just to prove a point. But, prove a point it would. 

President Obama Discusses His Anger With AIG

President Obama rightfully is using the "bully pulpit" and I hope he shuts down AIG. He is absolutely right that the AIG executives are doing everything they can against the fundamental values which built this Country.

AIG executives are traitors in the true sense of the word. 

Should the AIG Executives Do The Honorable Thing: Commit Suicide?

Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa apparently thinks so. A quote from the blog The Business Insider:

AIG execs should follow "the Japanese example" by publicly apologizing and "do one of two things: resign or commit suicide."

That is a good model to follow. 

Obama To Try to Stop AIG Bonuses

Obama to try to Stop the AIG Bonuses - GOOD!!  It is interesting everyone is talking about how they cannot "break a contract". Those same people had no problem DEMANDING that the UAW break their contract did they? I wonder why that is? 

One of the stipulations for the money to the car companies was the UAW offer "concessions" (i.e., break the contract) to equal what the Japanese auto workers make. No problem to tell the working person to take it in the shorts but ask the do nothing, failed, loser "trader" to break his/her contract and take "concessions" and you are somehow anti-American since America is built on contracts right?

The UAW should rise up in protest and demand either these bonuses stop or they will not give ANY concessions. 

AIG Releases Lists of Counterparties to Insurance

Well, they finally released the list of the counterparties and it sure looks like the United States Taxpayer is bailing out the world's banks. Why are we doing this? Seems every 50 - 70 years or so we have to save Europe from themselves. I say let them rot. Who cares if Europe goes under?

AIG Should Go Bankrupt. The Idiot Edward Liddy Should Be in Jail.

I wrote about the incredible bonuses being paid at AIG and how angry people are that their tax money is essentially going to pay bonuses. The idiot CEO and Chairman of AIG, Edward Liddy said they have legal obligations to pay this money.  Well, guess what? Not if they were in bankruptcy court they wouldn't. The assholes working at AIG would just get in line with everyone else to get money. Of course they would get nothing. 

This company should go bankrupt. Pure and Simple. AIG is a blight on the United States and if I had it my way, the executives would be handcuffed and go to jail. The board of directors would be flogged. 

My guess is the same things are going on inside GM and Chrysler. Let them all burn in hell. 

The idiot Edward Liddy is also on the board of directors at 3M. Another company you should contact immediately to have him be removed.

AIG to Pay $165M in Bonus Money. This Must Stop!!

What a disgrace upon America and the American tax payer. AIG is a company that should go down in flames and we should force it into bankruptcy. I had said all along they were so big and so intwined in the banking system we could not let them go down. However, when I read they are essentially going to pay all the money we gave them in bonuses I have to throw up.

It is time for a full scale revolt against these businesses. We do not need a "tea party" against our Government, we need a full scale war to start with Wall Street. These bankers and insurance companies are fleecing America. They could care less about America or its people rather they care about siphoning off as much off the top as they can. And they are "sucking hard" right now. 

I will write President Obama and tell him of my dissatisfaction. This is not an indictment on President Obama in total but in this case, if he does not either stop the bonuses or withhold the money I will be the first to say he has been duped. 

Let's do our part. Show your outrage to all the members. The Board of Directors Criminals should be found and hammered. Do not let them out of your site. Hammer them until they give in.
