Now we have another drug charge on the King of Conservatives along with Ann Coulter being investigated for voting in the wrong precinct.

They spend all day telling you how to live your life yet they violate the law at will.

Not So Free Speech From Those Who Make it Free

My trackbacks work to every site but Mudville. Guess he has had enough of hearing opposing views and now only listens to and reads those he agrees with. I am honored. His saying "Free Speech from Those Who Make it Free" has now been changed:

Why Stop The War When We Are Making So Much Money?

If anyone wanted to know why no one really wants to stop this war, all you have to do is look at this chart:
This is a 3 year view of the Philadelphia exchange Defense Sector Index  (an index proxy for firms engaged in Defense spending and contracting) versus the S&P 500 which is a good proxy for the market overall. Look at this chart. Ok, you are involved in contracting or subcontracting for this war and you ask yourself, do you really want to stop it?

The only reason to stop this war is some type of compensating factor. This is why I have advocated a draft or some kind of policy which forces the COUNTRY to go to war and not just the Army. When it is just the Army, you have this issue where not only is there no reason to stop the war, there is actually a HUGE incentive to CONTINUE the war.

If there were a stock index which tracked the fortunes of Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and the like, it would look very similar. Again, why advocate stopping the war? Ann Coulter just built a $1.3 million dollar crib in Florida and most of that money came from this war. She has made a lot of money off of the deaths of American soldiers. She has not offered to do "the voodoo that she does"  for nothing. She has not offered to give most of her money to help American Soldiers who have been maimed or the families of dead soldiers. She has REFUSED to serve.  All of this shows her interest is far more in making money than it is in ensuring the safety of America. She is allowing kids to be killed so she can make money.

Now we look at this chart and say the same thing. Why stop the war? Right now, it is responsible for "minting" a lot of new millionaires while others suffer.

To the American Military: You have been "had" by a bunch of conservative business interests who are making a killing off of your labor and risk. Have a nice day.

General Casey Details a "Cut and Run" Policy From The Pentagon

Geez, the far right nutcases must be really angry about this. First, Kerry describes a "cut and run" policy (Their bumper sticker saying) and now their own General in the Pentagon describes a cut and run policy as well!

I cannot wait until the right wing nuts start parsing the words to show how General Casey believes something different then Kerry but, at the end of the day, Kerry was advocating a date certain to get out of Iraq and GEN. Casey has also briefed a date certain date to get out of Iraq. Is GEN Casey guilty of "Cut and Run"?

Blackfive claims that the freedom of the press is not "absolute". I guess this means that if the Government is conservative and the Press discloses something against them that shows they are lying and violating my rights, the freedom is not absolute. Somehow, I do not remember when the leaks were coming out of the Clinton White House the conservative right saying, "Those damn illegal leaks".

Malkin and Baldilocks Complain About The Constitution

Now we have Malkin and Baldilocks complaining about the release from the GOVERNMENT (Remember, it is the Government and their employees who release the information. The NYT did not hold a gun to anyone's head) that they have been using a company called SWIFT to track all of our international  financial transactions. Incredible. Apparently, Baldilocks and Malkin believe that to fight terrorism we must shred the Constitution and 200 plus years of individual rights.

Perhaps this would not be a big deal except that the President cannot be trusted and therefore our press must aggressively go after the lies that the White House portrays. Remember WMDs? Remember we only wiretap foreign calls? Now we have SWIFT. I cannot help but think that it is MALKIN and BALDILOCKS who believe that a good 'ole fascist government would be far preferable to what we have now since it would be so efficient.

If they hate this so much then get the Government to shut up. It is the GOVERNMENT who leaks this. Once it is out, the press reports.

Long live the press and thank God that the NYT will be around a lot longer than Bush.

It is interesting that this is called SWIFT. Sounds like the NYT "Swift-boated" the White House. Guess they do not like it when it is done to them.

McCain Declares Republicans Are Party of Big Government

For those who read me often, you know that my biggest gripe with the nutcakes who are in power now is that they are NOT republicans; They are not the party of Ronald Reagan; They are the far right, the loonies who have taken over the "Grand Ole Party".

Now, John McCain comes out and says it more succinctly than I ever could. He says:

"Why has our party, the party of small government, lately adopted the practices of our opponents who believe the bigger the government the better? I'm afraid it's because at times we value our incumbency more than our principles,"

They also value the right wing Christian right more than they value the Constitution and the Democracy of America. You can read McCain's comments here.

Ann Coulter to Jail for Voter Fraud

Seems the queen of death is in a bit of trouble. She loves her Country so much that she apparently willingly violated Florida voting laws and could be going to the clink. She also loves her Country so much that she fraudulently applied for a homestead exemption at her new million dollar home in Florida. She is so distraught about the soldiers and she so wants to help them that while they are fighting she is over her buying million dollar homes.

It is no doubt that she wants the war to continue.. just look at the profits she is making. She fleeces America while soldiers die. Wow has she figured out a great system.

The Repubs Strategy: Never Join the Military and Destroy Those Who Do.

I have always found it funny that a most of the republican politicians who are gung how about war actually dodged their service when they had the opportunity to join. Their shrill announcers, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter, also refused to serve and continue to refuse to serve their Country in the military while being active proponents of sending others to their death.

Now, Taylor Marsh has a great post concerning the "Swiftboating" of real military heroes who happen to be against the current war in Iraq (interesting that the two heroes speaking up are actually democrats.. the right wing nuts can't find anyone who actually served to help them out).  This is reported on Crooks and Liars and the original article is here at Taylor Marsh

Army raises enlistment age; Reserves WILL NOT hit Targets

Once again, Dadmanly will have to figure a twist to this story so he can keep the impression up that there is nothing wrong with Army recruiting. We are now raising the age to 42 and the reserves have already conceded they will not hit their target this year.

Imagine that! Just a few months ago Dadmanly, Greyhawk and I jabbed as they said there was no problem in recruiting and he was wondering why no one reported it. My response was that now one with a brain in their head believed that. I also have talked about the Army reducing standards for a number of months.

Now, we have proof that I was right. Man, arguing with the far right wing military lunatics is like cow-tipping.

UPDATE: I forgot about this exchange with Blackfive when he was touting that all recruiting was going great. IRR Soldier and I tried to explain to them how their numbers were so tainted that the claim that recruiting was going fine was idiotic. We go the normal "You are a traitor" intellectual argument. Well, looks like we were right.

Can't make your numbers? Lower the standards. I am sure the active army can make their numbers if they accept every human being who can fog a mirror.

Republicans Proposing A Bill Certifying That "Apple Pie" is The Official Pie of America!

Coming off of the great diversions of voting for a "win" in Iraq, voting for "no gay marriage" and voting for "no flag burning"  the Republicans have decided to control the next week's news cycle with a proclamation and vote declaring that "Apple Pie is the official Pie of real Americans and of America". Karl Rove was quoted as saying:

"There are many pies in the world that are enjoyed by dangerous men. If you want to ensure that 9/11 does not happen again, you must vote for this bill. Cherry, blueberry and any BS french filling pie is truly not American. You are either with us or against us on this one. We know  Al Queda would love the world to turn against Apple Pie and this affirmative vote will ensure they are unsuccessful in this endeavor."

Dr. Dobson of Focus on the Family was called in by the administration to discuss the impact of this bill He was heard to say:

"Ever since Adam ate that damn apple, apples have had a bad name but God has told me that it is America's destiny to ensure the apple name is recovered from that story. By declaring that Apple Pie is the official pie of America, we are reaffirming that God wants "his people" to eat apples."

Bush commented:

"We will not "cut and run". John Murtha wants us to allow all sorts of pies in America but that is not good policy; that is to "cut and run" from Apple Pie. We won't do that, not as long as I am President. We will stand up for Apple Pie and ensure it stays where the founders wanted it to be."

"Yeah, I know we have a huge deficit and that 2500 troops are killed. Yes, I know that interest rates are up and jobs are being lost to outsourcing. Yes, I know that your sons and daughters are being maimed. But it is also important people know what their Government stands for. It is important the world knows we stand for Apple Pie and will not put up with any other pie."
