The Newest Diversion from The Right - The Press was Wrong Too!

The newest news diversion from the right wing is to show that the press was wrong too about WMDs in Iraq so therefore, I guess, that justifies the fact that Bush was so far off.  The Mudville Gazette started this diversion and now it is spreading like wildfire. Of course, there is the "rest of the story" which is why I am here.

See, Bush, Clinton or whoever is in Government has access to the CIA, other intelligence agencies, toys like satellites and other secretive items which the press does not have access to. So the standard is much higher for our Government than it is for the press.

I do agree that our press is becoming far less independent than it should, which, BTW, flies right in the face of the other argument that the right wing makes which is that the press is somehow a left wing leaning liberal nuthouse. So, on the one hand they say that the press was complicit with Bush in leading us into this war but on the other hand they say the evil "MSM" is against everything Bush stands for.  Hmmm... which is right? I suppose in the right wing mind, both can be right.

The other argument which is implied in this story at "Media Lies" (Link above) is that all this came out under Clinton. But, Clinton did not invade. Could it be that he was far smarter than Bush (that is a given) and knew that the information was not solid enough to justify an invasion? That is what you would have to believe given the argument that Medial Lies seems to make which is that all the press information was available to Clinton.

Maybe Clinton did not have a predisposition to invasion. Maybe Clinton actually looked at the intelligence reports. Maybe Clinton actually was smart enough to know it was sketchy. Maybe Clinton was smart enough to know that there were other ways to get this done beside killing 2,000 fine Americans. Maybe Clinton knew that isolating ourselves in the world was a horrible thing.

Yes, Media Lies actually makes the argument that Clinton was a far better President.
