I have to laugh at all the people who think that because the insurgency has slowed for the last two weeks we must have been successful at bringing democracy to Iraq. I hope we are but I doubt that it is true. Citizen Smash believes it.
However what most Americans do not realize is that not everything gets solved in a 1 hour CSI episode. That is what we would like the war to be like. Remember, in a few months after the start of this war our moronic President landing on an aircraft carrier to tell us that "Major Combat was over"? I think that was about 1300 soldier deaths ago.
My friends, this is a long long drawn out struggle. We will be in Iraq for a long time or we may just have to abandon it. The planning for 9/11 started during the first Gulf War! So, America, don't sit around with a naive look on the world thinking that the entire world has changed in 4 years. It has not.
Oh yeah, don't confuse the war in Iraq with the war we are SUPPOSED to be fighting against terrorism. The terrorists are laughing as we divert our attention, armed forces and money to an enemy that had nothing to do with 9/11. In fact, they are sitting back drinking tea enjoying this as our economy is being devastated.
